The Federal Public Commission has changed the syllabus of Pakistan Affairs for the CSS examination to be held in 2016. The new syllabus includes some new topics related to the Post Independence scenario. All the new topics have been included in the current edition to bring it in line with the new syllabus. It is a painstakingly researched version which the students/candidate would find extremely useful for 2016 CSS examination. The Pakistan Movement portion has been retained with a view of providing the readers and the students the background of the subject.
Maximum effort has been taken to update the book in the light of the requirements of the syllabus of 2016 CSS examination. The nature and content of the new syllabus indicates that FPSC intends to assess a candidates’ knowledge about the latest developments in the field of domestic and International politics. I feel much obliged to all my friends and colleagues who sincerely assisted me in the preparation of the book in time. In this regard I feel deeply indebted to Mr. Ch. Ahmed Najib, the Publisher who took special pain to collect the relevant material needed for the up dating. His keenness to produce the edition in time was of crucial importance as it kept me on toes all the time to complete the written work. It is fervently hoped that the current version of Pakistan Affairs would adequately cater to the needs of the students/candidates and general readers. Suggestions for improvement would be welcomed.
